The Mansion dates from the late 1600 s when it was parochial Welsh farmhouse. Since the 1700s it was expanded by a French family who made it the estate it is today. When people hear the word estate they think of stately homes but the family who built it used it as a working farm also forging their own tools and mining their own resources as a totally self-sufficient rural estate. To this day we manage the estate in much the same way with a working farm traditional orchard and large vegetable garden. On roughly 220 acres we are an ideal location for groups of family or friends who have the option to stay in one of our self-catering cottages situated in a micro-village in the midst of our farm with ducks geese chickens peafowl and pigs. The accommodation is rustic yet comfortable with loads of character. br / br / br / br / In the main house we provide bed & breakfast accommodation. There are four spacious double/family bedrooms two with en-suite bath/shower & toilet and two with en-suite shower & toilet. The lounge boasts a welcoming log fire in the Winter time a baby-grand piano and a television with DVD player. Tea & coffee is always available. We are situated under a dark sky area so without the drone of urban noises or glaring lights you can be assured of a peaceful night s sleep. Our breakfast menu is traditional British B&B with the heartiest plate portion being the Welsh full breakfast. Breakfast is served from 8am onwards. If you require an earlier breakfast we always have available cereal and toast. br / br / br / br / The Glynhir Estate is situated in an ideal location for many family attractions and activites. Our estate is situated on a gorge at the foot of the Black Mountain and on our property we have an impressive 30ft waterfall accessible via our Victorian woodland walk.

M4 - Road: From the M4 motorway - Travel to the very end of the motorway Junction 49 (Pont Abraham services). Take the second exit marked Llandeilo and Ammanford (A483) and proceed along this road for several miles which leads into the town of Ammanford. At the second set of traffic lights in the town turn left and proceed along this road for approx. two miles. When you see the village signpost of LLANDYBIE take the second turning on the right marked Glynhir Road. br/ br/ A40 - Road: From the A40 - Travelling from Monmouth Abergavenny Brecon Llandovery and then Llandeilo where you leave the A40 which turns right to Carmarthen you go straight through to Llandeilo on the A483 signposted Ammanford through Ffairfach Derwydd and Llandybie. Having traveled through the village centre continue over the railway bridge and in a short while you will pass Midway Garage on your left - take the first turning on the left past the garage. This is Glynhir Road. Proceed as above. br/ br/ Swansea - Train: By Train From Swansea take the Shrewsbury branch line to Llandybie station. The train will not stop unless you inform the guard that your stop is in Llandybie. From the station there is a short walk to the village centre where the telephone box can be found in order to telephone a taxi if this hasn t been pre-arranged (Taxi Shop 01269 595050).
