Llandrindod Wells is in the middle of Mid Wales and is a great place to tour the surrounding areas from. With many outstanding areas of beauty and historical relevance you are never without something to do or see. There are many places to visit within a short car journey such as Hay on Wye (famous for their book festival) The Elan valley (four reservoirs and many great walks) Builth Wells (The Royal Welsh Show) and Leominster (Antique centre). br / br / br / br / There are also many places of interest in Llandrindod Wells and as we are situated in the centre of town these are no more than a few minutes walk away. They include The Lake The Rock Park and Spa Temple Gardens and the Albert Hall. If you wish to do something a bit more energetic there is the Bowling Centre both indoors and outdoors as well as the fantastic Harry Vardon designed Llandrindod Wells Golf Club (see services for golf deals) with its challenging course and probably the best views in Powys. We also have a Tennis Club and a Leisure Centre. Portland House itself is situated in the heart of Llandrindod Wells within walking distance to all of the local shops pubs bistros and restaurants. Portland House is a splendid Grade II listed building which retains many of its original features. br / br / br / br / With so many things to do or see on your stay we feel that Portland House is a great place to unwind and relax at the end of your day. We aim to provide you with a warm welcome in a beautiful building. To make your stay as comfortable as possible we have also provided a residents lounge where you can relax reading a book or watching some television after a days sightseeing/walking or playing golf.

From the M5 South At junction 7 take the A44 exit to Worcester (S) and At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Whittington Rd. After half a mile take at the roundabout the 1st exit onto Crookbarrow Way/A4440 Continue to follow A4440 for 4.7 miles (going through 4 roundabouts). At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto A44 and continue for 22.5 miles. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto A49 and At the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto Mill St/A44. At the roundabout take the 1st exit and stay on Mill St/A44 and follow for 0.4 miles. At the junction turn right staying on the A44 (signed for the leisure centre) and after one mile turn left onto Monkland Road/A44 Rhayder (BreconA438). After 3.4 miles turn right to stay on the A44 for Rhayder and follow for 8.8 miles. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit and stay on A44 and follow for 17.8 miles (going through one roundabout and entering Wales). At the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto A483 and follow for 3.4 miles (going through one roundabout) then Turn right onto Spa Rd/A4081 and you will find us on the left. From the North At junction 15 of the M56 exit onto M53 toward Chester/Wrexham and Continue onto A55. After 5.1 miles At junction 36 take the A483 exit to Wrexham/Chester At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Wrexham Rd/A483 Continue to follow A483 for 16.4 miles (going through one roundabout and entering Wales). At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto A5 follow for 7.2 miles (enter England again). At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto A483 and follow for 28.5 miles re-entering Wales and going through 4 roundabouts and at the traffic lights turn right to stay on the A483 towards Welshpool and Trallwng and follow for 26.3 miles going through 2 roundabouts. Turn right onto Spa Rd/A4081 and you will find us on the left.
