Chester is a fantastic historical city dating from the Roman era surrounded by a wall built by the Romans fascinating to walk along. There is also an amphitheatre and a Roman garden dating from that period of occupancy. The city also boasts the first racecourse in the UK situated in the heart of the city with races running during May September. Chester has the River Dee meandering through it where walking/boating/sitting by the river is a relaxing way to spend your visit. The city is also a great place to shop: not only does it boast many of the leading department stores but it is also famous for its many local shops. Shopping in Chester is fun and interesting as you walk on the cobbled streets and past the many historic buildings one of which is the very impressive cathedral. Our hotel is near a part of the famous Roman wall.

Walking from the station go straight ahead out of the station onto City Road. Then go through the subway and onto Foregate Street. Once at the cross turn right onto Foregate Street and walk for 300 metres go through the city walls and we are on the right. From the bus station head towards Northgate Street and turn left on this street we are 200 metres on the right through the walls.
