A trip to Hemmelfjellet in Åmot is recommended and the trip starts at Skramstadsætra and leads you 885 meters above sea level. Birkebeinerløypa goes from Rena to Lillehammer and you can go there by foot or bike if you want. The trip is for about 70 kilometer. Whether you are active on bike or just want a fun afternoon trip there are many good alternative rounds like Odalsrunden, Østersjørunden, and Åstadalen to name a few. If you wish to fish in this beautiful landscape, there are also several good fishing spots here. Renaelva is considered as one of the most attractive rivers in Norway. With its long still flowing lots and a very rich insect life, it provides the perfect basis for a dry-fly fish after large fish. In the river there are as many as 12 species of fish. There is a good stock of trout, harr and sik as the most sought after species. In some parts of the river there are also pike.
