Off the hallway, to the left of the kitchen, is the door to the bedroom and the rest of the apartment.

Double glazing and lightproof curtains ensure that you will have a restful night in the extremely comfortable queen-sized bed.

You can see the entrance door to the bathroom when you look at the photo above on the right.

Below the Regency mirror on the chimney breast is a pretty desk with a top that lets down to provide a place to write your postcards or a work surface for your laptop, if you are taking advantage of the high speed wireless internet access.

The reason it is named the Queens Corner is because the street was originally called Rue Antoinette from 1840 to 1879, after the former French Queen. The name Rue Yvonne Le Tac was only given to the street in 1968.

The salon is furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques, contemporary pieces and flea market finds.

After a busy day exploring Paris you can relax on the sofa, which converts to a very comfortable double bed for extra guests.

Make sure to stop at the square by Place des Abbesses to see the wall 'I Love You' which is composed of 612 ceramic tiles and says 'je t'aime' in more than 300 languages.

As there are so many wonderful choices of places to shop and eat in the immediate area, you may find that you only eat breakfast or snacks in the flat.

The Abbesses metro station is less than a minute away from the apartment. The metro makes it easy to connect to other parts of Paris such as the Opera Garnier, the prestigious Place Vendome for high end shopping, the Louvre and the famous Haussmann shopping area feauturing Galeries Lafayette and Printemps.

When entering the apartment, you arrive in a hallway and the WC is immediately to your left.

The two main rooms retain period oak parquet floors and decorative plaster cornices, and there is a pretty original ceramic, Prussian stove in the bedroom.

This apartment is just around the corner from the famous grocery shop immortalized in the film 'Amelie'.

There is also a combination washing machine/dryer under the work surface.

The mirrored cabinet over the basin has deep shelves to house all your personal items and contains a hairdryer.

It is the door to the right of the fireplace.

A bookcase holds a large and carefully chosen selection of the owner's English books, which should provide something for most tastes. On the top shelf is a range of guidebooks and maps.

A lovely example of charm that is fit for a Queen in the bedroom is the beautiful, antique mirror above the Prussian stove shown in the photos on the right of this page.

Sitting by the windows in the sun you can choose one of two views to gaze out on as you eat - southwards down the vibrant Rue des Martyrs with its shops, bars and cafes, or westwards along Rue Yvonne Le Tac towards the tree-lined Place des Abbesses with its Belle Epoque Metro station.

Although not shown in the photos, there are shelves in the entry hall to provide a place to store suitcases as well as a coat rack to hang your outdoor wear.
